Use of alanine EPR dosimeters for discriminating neutron and photon components in the thermal column of Pavia Triga reactor

The main gol of the present work is to investigate the response behaviour of alanine EPR pellets in clinical proton anc carbon ion beams. Proton irradiations were carried out at PSI (Switzerland) using both passive and active scattering modality, whereas, C ions irradiation were performed at GSI (Germany) adopting the raster scanning modality.

Abstract The influence of the wooden equipment used for the traditional cheese manufacturing from raw milk was evaluated on the variations of chemico-physical characteristics and microbial populations during the ripening of Caciocavallo Palermitano cheese. Milk from two farms (A, extensive; B, intensive) was processed in traditional and standard conditions. Chemical and physical traits of cheeses were affected by the farming system and the cheese making technology, and changed during ripening. In questo capitolo si illustrano le suddivisioni interne al gruppo ladino. Kaurane diterpenoids from three Sideritis species

Some kaurane diterpenoids were isolated from 3 species of the genus Sideritis (Lamiaceae) growing in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Sideritis libanotica subsp. libanotica contained siderol 2 and sideridiol 3. Sideritis erythrantha var. erythrantha yielded sideridiol 3. Sideritis perfoliata gave siderol 2, sideridiol 3 and sideritriol 4. The products are known as they occur in another species of Sideritis growing in Italy and in other species growing also in Turkey. The products are isolated for the first time from these 3 species. The taxonomic significance of these results is discussed.

Aquest treball se centra a descriure l'estructura sil·làbica del valencià en el marc de la teoria de l'optimitat. En concret, s'analitzen els mecanismes que determinen la sil·labificació de les consonants com a obertures o com a codes. També s'estudia en quines circumstàncies les consonants poden aparéixer com a codes i obertures complexes. Pel que respecta a les vocals, es descriuen els principis que determinen la incorporació d'aquests segments als nuclis i als marges sil·labics. Finalment, l'últim capítol de la tesi es dedica a analitzar com el sistema de principis de la llengua s'encarrega de seleccionar la forma òptima dels pronoms febles en cada entorn.
Analysis of the ATLAS Rome Production Experience on the LHC Computing Grid

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN will start data acquisition in 2007. The ATLAS (A Toroidal LHC Apparatus) experiment is preparing for the data handling and analysis via a series of Data Challenges and production exercises to validate its computing model and to provide useful samples of data for detector and physics studies. The last Data Challenge, begun in June 2004 and ended in early 2005, was the first performed completely in a Grid environment. Immediately afterwards, a new production activity was necessary in order to provide the event samples for the ATLAS physics workshop, taking place in June 2005 in Rome.
